History & Current Job Info

My name is Jonathan.  I was born in a city near Atlanta and all of my family still lives in this area and most of my relatives, but I also lived in Washington state (where I lived between 1977-1980 & 1997-2002) and Texas for a few years.  So, I grew up living in many different places mainly because my father was a medical officer in the U.S. Army.  That makes me an Army Brat that loves jets, so working for the Boeing Co. is a great place for me to be!  I am a manufacturing engineering project planner (darn long title) in the Interiors Responsibility Center which supports the manufacturing of our commercial wide body airplanes in Everett, WA.  In other words, I get design engineering data/drawings and generate/create plans and bill of materials for the closets and crew rests that will be built by our shop mechanics, which will eventually go into my (bias based) favorite jet the Boeing 777.  As of Nov. 27th, 2000 I'm no longer a M.E. planner and now working on the new Longer Range 767-400ER program as an Integrated Scheduler (Project Management Specialist).  Basically, I'm upstream (more or less) from Engineering now instead of downstream.  Well, as of March 2001 the Longer Range 767-400ER program was cancelled and I was redeployed to the the Longer-Range 777-200LR and -300ER new derivative programs.  I'm still an Integrated Scheduler but back working on my favorite Boeing jet!  Update (07/11/02): I'm now working on the Boeing GMD (Boeing missile defense) program, over seeing production/fabrication of the missile silos & other hardware in Clackamas, OR.  Update (03/29/03): After getting laid off from Boeing Commercial in October '02 we moved back to Georgia and I got a project controls contract job with TVA in Chattanooga, TN then got the job I wanted with Kubota Manufacturing of America in Gainesville, GA as a R&D Engineer.  This Kubota job has turned out to be very good and interesting work. Below are some photos of the products I do R&D work on:

My first Kubota R&D Project:

Family & Education

Enough about me and my job...so the fact is everybody in my family is the medical field (except me)!  My mother is a professional herbalist & photographer, and CAT scan operator; she is real cool and is in to earthy and spiritual stuff (it is interesting to say the least)!  My dad is the best ER doctor you could hope to see if you had a medical emergency, and is pretty cool himself.  My only sibling is a doctor like my dad I'm afraid to say, so at least one of us turned out O.K.  HeHe!  J/k!  And last, but not least my loving and so very cute, wife Jocie - Established on Nov. 2, 1996...and now my handsome son Nathaniel & now Madison!!!  I also graduated from Brookwood High School in Snellville, GA in 1990 and Georgia Southern University in 1996 with a B.S. in Manufacturing - Industrial Management.  I'm currently working on a Masters in Project Management at City University...my course work is completed.  Soon the fun starts with my thesis which will be sometime in the year ????.  Not sure when I'm going to start the darn thesis.  I'm enjoying giving my brain a break...not to mention lots of stuff has happened the past 4 years, but I'm looking to finally start my thesis in early 2005.

Cars & Hobbies

I now own a Acura TSX & we got a Honda Pilot...for more info go here: My Hondas  Well, I use to own 2 Hondas and think they are great and reliable cars like most Japanese automobiles.  We now have a Mitsubishi Montero Sport as our only vehicle.  It is important to buy American.  However, most Japanese cars these days are at least manufactured in the USA.  With that said, I'm currently driving a Jeep Cherokee Sport to work and back (mainly)...it's actually my sister-in-law's Jeep and we are taking care of it for her while she's in Alaska.  She will get it late this summer before she heads down to University of Oregon to start her graduate degree in Geology.  Many thanks Kenzie for letting me borrow your Jeep!  I also enjoy mountain biking when my lazy bones get around to it.  I also enjoy many sports like NHL hockey, rugby, soccer, NASCAR, most racing, web development and computers.  Lastly, I really enjoy massive multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPG)...notably Asheron's Call!  That is just a few things I can think of at this time.  Not playing many PC games these days (no more Asheron's Call), but enjoy surfing the web i.e. www.ebaY.com, www.ephatch.com, www.tsxclub.com and now playing C&C Generals a little.

Future Plans

Raise our son on the east coast (sooner or later depending on my job search) and do our best to make him happy and healthy!!!  Well, I got us back to Georgia so its all good now!
